Ginnie Chase Derusseau practiced intellectual property law for several years in Washington, D. C. before returning to Kansas City in 1994. She continues to work in all phases of patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret law and litigation. She devotes about fifty percent of her time to trademark matters, including trademark application prosecution and opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Her patent prosecution work focuses on mechanical technologies.
Ms. Derusseau is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and the Kansas, Virginia and the District of Columbia Bars. She is also a member of the Johnson County, Kansas, and American Bar Association (Member: Patent, Trademark and Copyright Law Sections), and the American Intellectual Property Law Association. Ms. Derusseau is also admitted to various federal trial and appellate courts.
